Chomlea, Bowdon, Cheshire

Chomlea, an elegant mansion in the heart of Bowdon's conservation area, was to provide the formula for many later PJ Livesey developments. That is, breathing new life into a fine period property and making this economically viable with a new build project in the grounds.

Completed in 1986 it features 5 apartments in the mansion itself, 6 apartments in the new east wing and 7 in the new west wing. It is a credit to the architectural and design skills of the PJ Livesey Group that the marriage between old and new is a successful one. No expense was spared to ensure the new build closely mirrored the original. The final test, as always, is the open market. Chomlea could not have been more well received, all 18 apartments being sold during the construction period.
