Set amongst the spectacular 160 acre Rufford Estate in Lancashire, Rufford New Hall was built in 1736 by Thomas Hesketh. Wainhomes had acquired the Rufford Estate with planning permission for twenty new homes. The company wanted to stay within its own core areas of expertise, and being aware of the specialist restoration work undertaken by PJ Livesey Rural Heritage, they made contact.
Employing the skills of Livesey specialists, nine apartments and mews homes were created in the original Hall and a further 16 mews homes in the newly built North Wing.The neighbouring stables became a stunning courtyard comprising 12 mews cottages. Formal gardens, lawns and tennis courts were returned to their former splendour.
